HGV’s in the Village

Hi everyone

Over the last few months there has been an increase in the number of HGV`s & other vehicles trying to access the Redrow building site.

We  lost the fight to retain the busgate to help reduce the amount of traffic over our surface water drains. In the planning consent access to the Redrow site is via Newton Lane not Wellington Avenue.

We have spoken to & emailed Redrow &  provisionally given permission for no access signs to be erected at the bottom of Wellington Ave. This was done in  October 2020 & March 2021. The signs would be no bigger than those on Newton Lane but as yet we have not heard back from Redrow.

Rushcliffe Borough Council have the power to enforce the planning so please  contact them & register a complaint about Redrows non compliance with the planning re the vehicle access to their site.  If you have photographic evidence then please include it.

The more complaints the council receive the more power they have to enforce  the planning.

The direct email for planning enforcement is  planningandgrowth@rushcliffe.gov.uk

If you could copy us in at info@trenchard.co.uk this will be a great help when dealing with these issues in the future. Rushcliffe planners will not give us  information due to data protection.

Regards
Margaret

Surface Water Drainage Repairs Oct 2020

CPS drainage solutions have been on the estate relining some of our surface water drains.

All the work is done under a large tent as they are using UV light

The knitted felt liner is impregnated with vinyl ester resin. By filling one end with resin it is evenly distributed by pulling the liner through gauging rollers, under a vacuum.

The liner is everted into the pipe by feeding it through a compressed air gun. This means the resin is now on the outside of the liner.

The resin is cured by pulling a UV light head through the pipe at a controlled speed.

These liners have a 25 year guarantee but hopefully they should last much longer.

Severn Trent Water

All residents of TCRCL, check your account with Severn Trent as you may be able to save some money.

If you are paying for removal of surface water you need to contact Severn trent and inform them that all the surface water runs into privately maintained drains that run into ditches, soakaways and a watercourse. Once they have agreed this you can then ask for a refund.

Additionally, a new item on Severn Trent invoices is ‘highway drainage’. Having checked with Severn Trent it does not matter where the highway drains to. Every household in Severn Trent area must pay it. Apparently, we have always paid this but it was hidden within the waste water payment.

If you manage to get this changed please let us know on info@trenchardclose.co.uk & we can update this post

All the relevant contact details can be found on Severn Trent webpage
